The history said that the most successful new business ideas in twentieth century were invented by a man who died in debt. The two inventions are still in use and generate hundreds of billions income each year.

We all know that Thomas Alfa Edison as the inventor of the light bulb, but the truth is that Mr. Edison invented the light bulb so he could market his new business ideas in electrical distribution system. Marconi also as an example, is known as the inventor of radio but in fact his invention was based entirely on other people work.

Mr. Edison did not invent the modern power grids, but his invention was for DC power distribution. George Westinghouse Jr. was inventor, he invented the railway air brake. He is Mr. Edison’s competitor in the new business ideas of electrical power distribution.

The Edison companies and Westinghouse competed each other for years in the new business ideas which became known as the war between alternating current and direct current. Alternating current eventually won the battle because alternating current power distribution is cheaper to deliver.

The inventor of both of these died in debt. Later on January of 1943, the US Supreme Court upheld his patent which in effect and said that he had actually invented the radio. He had sold all of his patents for alternating current power distribution to Westinghouse Electric Company.

The above story is an example of the truth about successful new business ideas. Edison, Westinghouse and Marconi all knew the truth. Successful new business ideas are not the only things that matter. The key is marketing and what counts is that we get others to buy things.

Starting New Business

In recent times there is a great deal of interest. Many people want to become their own boss in business. What does it take to start new business ideas? These are good questions to consider since the advertising of such opportunities claim that anyone can begin their own business if they are teachable and willing to follow their system.

An important prerequisite to starting new business ideas is a desire for change, a desire for self determination and a desire to stop working for someone else. The question is how does this desire for change develop?

Those desires develop when we become dissatisfied with what we are doing in new business ideas. Do we satisfy as employee? Does our job stress us? Do we dislike the people we work with? Do we find that we are now working longer hours for the less pay? Do we wish to have more time to do the things we love?

The desire for change also develops when we see a lucrative new business ideas opportunity in the market place. There may be no other business providing a particular service or product. There may be a great demand for a service or product and few providers. We may also believe that we can provide a better service or better product than our competitors.

Some people translate those desires into action take 5 years, others 5 months, 5 weeks or 5 minutes. It depends upon what type of person we are. If we are currently employed, it may take us 5 years to become dissatisfied with our situation so that we want to change it to take into action creating new business ideas.

If our circumstances in life change, such as retrenchment, juggling child care, employer cutting back hours and earning less money than before, it may take only a few months for us to develop the desire to become more self determined. It really depends upon the type of person we are and the situation we find ourselves in. So, the conclusion, starting new business ideas is depend what type of person we are.

What to Consider

There is no business that is guaranteed to succeed. The reason why most people fail in new business ideas is due to lack of proper planning. Without well organized planning, we have never known when there is a good cash flow in our store, when we have made a profit and how much the amount of debts our store owes. Without better planning, we will hardly acquire loan since most banks will demand past records for our new business ideas.

We should know what different people want, base on the location of our new business ideas. This is very important because we will be able to serve many people to increase revenue. Punctuality is also vital and should be put into consideration. Avoid lateness in order to maintain and relationship with our clients.

Be honest and inform our clients of the good services we will offer to our customers. Maintain good manners since this will bring more customers to our new business ideas. Reduce the price services a little less than the normal price in order to make customers come for more. This will also make our new business ideas withstand competition from other similar large firms.

Our employees have to be satisfied by paying them good salaries at the right time. The salary should be enough to cater for their need. Failure to this, our employees will quit their job making it difficult to run the new business ideas alone.
